The Korean madman dictator made good on his government's threat to launch missiles on the fourth of July, though the fireworks display was less impressive than first expected.

North Korea fired up to seven short-range missiles out to sea with an estimated range of up to 500 miles, capable of hitting targets in South Korea. However, the government's boasting of a long-range missile test, perhaps capable of reaching Alaska and Hawaii didn't come to fruition. However, the North Koreans announced by testing schedule which could last until July 10th, so more surprises could be in order.

So, how do we negotiate with North Korea who is displays this show of military aggression for more aid and to advertise its missile arsenal to the highest bidder? In this tense atmosphere, how will get sentenced journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling back to the States?

No good clues for diplomacy and no good answers as to its result. Normally, more of the same.

This morning, CNN's T.J. Holmes got to chat with little known Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be known nationally as of July 26 when he formerly takes over as Governor from Sarah Palin.

Having 'the big scoop' of the day on his hands, T.J. too advantage like a pitbull, asking rightful tough questions in the aftermath of a shocking series of events leading Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin retirement announcement.

One impression about the Lt. Gov. I like that is different from Gov. Palin is that e appears to be more of a backstage personality, which Alaska may need, as it is one hardest hit states in the recession. Perhaps Parnell will be far more effectual in Alaska than Gov. Sarah Palin, hit with one ethics scandal after another, leaving the office with rumors of the development of larger inquiries into her handling of the Governor's office.

Is Fox News CONFUSED About Health Care Reform??

It must really be hard time for Republicans because in this case, the right hand doesn't know what the other right is doing?! One of the pillars of Fox News this summer and fall will be to expose the "flaws" in the Obama health care reform program which nearly all shows questioning the cost, patient care, as well as the ideology behind its advocates.

On "I'm not a journalist" 'Glenn Beck', Beck attacks the expected quality care by using the state-run Massachusetts health care program developed by fmr. Gov. Mitt Romney (R). But, Glenn Beck never tells the audience that the Massachusetts program was a bipartisan effort. In fact, the Massachusetts health care program is the major accomplishment trumpeted by Mitt Romney. Beck deliberately engages in misrepresentation and distortion, and not the first time.

On the other right hand, Megyn Kelly runs a piece which sounds like a 2012 Romney campaign commercial. Trumping the Massachusetts health care program without federal dollars, which is right? Which is correct? Neither or is this news propaganda simply anything to encourage a stop to a health care public option? [I'd think the latter.]

Charles Krauthammer has done it again!

Yesterday top his perch on Special Report with Bret Baier, the intellectual conservative waded in the weeds evaluating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a presidential candidate in 2012. Krauthammer (no doubt) intellectual assessment was she was not a "credible candidate".

Uh oh..battle lines!

The GOP appears to appreciate Gov. Palin's natural rhetorical gifts, but there is massive disagreement on whether she can appeal outside of her rural conservative, Christian base. I think she can if she just focused on her job as Governor and sought to study up on national issues, and provide (or facilitate) a forum where patricularly women and children's issues (and innovative solutions) can be brought to the forefront.

As of now, Gov. Sarah Palin is unacceptable to two parts of the Republican coalition: fiscal and liberation Republicans. Krauthammer is correct to use the Fox News forum to tell the Barracuda nation what every other Republican and Democrat already knows.

She's not ready.

My only question is would the Palin crowd support Mitt Romney? To 2008, many Republicans had an issue with Mitt Romney being a Mormon.

Charles Krauthammer Says Obama is Wrong on Honduras (and Everything Else)!

On Special Report with Bret Baier, conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer finds (like Dick Cheney) President Obama can't do anything right with foreign policy. Krauthammer criticized Obama for advocating the return of President Manual Zelaya in Honduras, because he is like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro, never mind the fact that Zelaya is the freely elected ruler of the nation. To preserve democracy in the Americas, Charles argues the U.S. should have done nothing.

Likewise with Iran, Charles Krauthammer believes the President has done too little. Even though the United States has had an atrocious record of promoting democracy (and supporting the Shah) in Iran for the benefit to America's oil interests. The neo-conservative counters that Americas' interests would be best served with a strong statement slamming Ayatollah Khomeini and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on behalf of the reformists, even though doing so would diminish Americans to discourage Iran from building a nuclear weapon. Only helping Israeli hardliners like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who, in the past, have been resistant to a two-state solution in Palestine and have been open to a military engagement with Iran.

Krauthammer is the master of 'poison pill' foreign policy. If Charles tell you do something, do the opposite.

Fox News' Kirsten Powers Supports A Military Coup in Honduras?!

Say what?!

What has Kirsten Powers been smoking? The 'liberal' Democratic Fox News went on Hannity "Great American Panel" to state her support for the military coup in Honduras, where the military (as supposed to killing or jailing the President) flew him to Costa Rica in his pajamas!

Kirsten Powers' explanation was that President Zelaya wanted a third term (outside the constitution) and he wanted to place a referendum for public vote. Plus, the military and opposition parties all agreed to the coup in secret. So what? What is illegal about going through a democratic system to change laws..it doesn't matter whether he reminds you of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez or not.

Supporting a military coup is not a 'liberal' position.

Don't drink Fox News koolaid, Powers! You're already a little too quiet for my tastes!

Even better, Gov. Sanford is spending the fourth of July with his wife and kids in Florida!

Sated in their mutual admiration society, the magnificently conservative duo continue to skip playing down the Yellow brick road of GOP talking points describing President Obama's term so far as "anti-liberty and Bernie Madoff times a thousand" and "foreign" [a now popular subtle way to touch on Obama's race].

About the only truthful point to the conservative talker ltowel snapping, was the description of Saul Alinsky's infleunce on Obama (as well as then, candidate Hillary Clinton). Of course, both Hannity and Levin forget to mention Alinsky was about building up middle and working class people, not destroying the middle class.

Oh well, Sean will just mention that "Obama, Alinsky, and Clinton were all communists" tomorrow on 'Hannity'!

Glenn Beck, then proceeds to tell the story of the hyper-paranoid French writer and his girlfriend coming to America through Canada - as if that something to do with liberals here?

Even Glenn acknowledges his segment on The Coming Insurrection is based on the mainstream criticism for his forum for far right views and near seditious rhetoric towards President Obama, Democrats, and, especially, the federal government.

If Glenn Beck's, Becktology 101 wanted to properly smear liberals as potential far left terrorists, talk about the ELF, or some animal rights extremists, not activists from another country, who do not even directly espouse violence.

Well, Glenn, tomato is not to-ma-to!

All of Washington is in shock over the blatant selling of "access" to the media and (supposedly) Obama administration officials at a company soiree being held at Washington Post publisher and Washington insider Katharine Weymouth's home.

In the memo for lobbyists' eyes only, the Washington Post would make introductions starting at the low cost of $25,000 dollars on up to $250,000!, where they give buyers a cake and a pinata! (smile)

At the White House, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs denied the White House had knowledge of or would authorize the lobbying function for its officials with the paper.



I know newspapers are hurting for business, but a paper [Washington Post] becoming a "de facto" lobbyist arm, really has the potential to betray the trust of the public and needlessly compromise reporters. Thank goodness, a lobbyist uncomfortable with event tipped off other Washington media outlets. Apparently, some lobbyists have ethics after all!

SC Attorney General Henry McMaster Launches Investigation on Travel Funds Used by Gov. Sanford!!

South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster has asked the State Law Enforcement Division to issue an inquiry regarding whether the use of state funds were used in the travels of Governor Mark Sanford. This action comes on the heels of Governor Sanford refusing to release his public travel records.

In a true testament that all politics is local, the Attorney General has not ruled out whether to run for Mark Sanford's job in 2010! Amidst more calls to resign from Republican members of the Senate, the AG's investigation is viewed as an official lever to press for the Governor's removal (if necessary).

Could somebody tell me what the hell is going on in South Carolina??

WTF?!: Is Glenn Beck A Cheerleader for Bin Ladin??

Yesterday, Glenn Beck had on anti-Obama extremist zealot, ex-CIA agent Michael Scheuer indulging in xenophobia (like the Minutemen), discussing the problems with the Mexican drug cartels and the proper reluctance to adopt a federally defensive military posture versus our close neighbor to the South.

Again, like with the FEMA conspirators, with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R), host Glenn Beck comes very close to advocating seditious acts, fleshing out the hard-right agenda only to over rhetorically 'retreat' at the end of the interview (presumably to defuse any ethical culpability which could attach). This behavior begs one question: Does Beck really believe these right-wing extremists have legitimacy or is he simply appealing to the Republican and Libertarian hard-liners for profit?

Either conclusion is extremely troubling.

Believe me, with this clip the CIA, the FBI, and the NSA are probably watching Michael Scheuer everyday like a hawk!

While on 'The O'Reilly Factor' with Dr. Monica Crowley, Ph.D, Glenn Beck bit into the Al Franken victory in Minnesota by revealing the now Senator-elect Franken's ascension into the Senate would be like "me" into the Senate. "You don't want me.."

You're right: we don't. However, the Minnesota Supreme Court did deem the state of Minnesota did elect Al Franken fairly with 320 votes. So, Franken should be seated.

Of course, there is the old adage that, "If you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all."

Clearly, the conservative libertarian and the "doctored" intellectual conservative have nothing good to say about President Obama, the Democrats, and what the majority of Americans want in climate change, health care, or on any of the current priorities of Congress.

Of course in conservatives' eyes, since Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin is the only republican politician generating a grassroots pulse, any article critical of her is labeled as 'sexist'.

Sean Hannity and legal eagle/"nouveau-conservative" Kimberly Guilfoyle (formerly a Democrat-before Fox News) break down the article as a slight against all woman is office.

I kid you not. Sean Hannity becomes so Hannitized he threatens to call an unnamed female Democrat politician "a slutty, flight attendant"!
