The war for health care reform has hit a new low!

The Conservathugs are becoming upset that the silent majority for health reform now are not going to take future scenes of conservatism run awok amid democratic lawmakers working hard for change.

Tonight at a Tampa, Florida town hall for Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D-FL) tempers flared and the anti-health care protesters set a new low - violence.



Conservative activists need to realize that 20th Century tactics to intimidate lawmakers and shut down reform will fail. Scenes like the melee at the town hall show the bare knuckles of a right-wing conservative media machine, ready and willing to distort the truth to preserve the status quo.

Will the government plan destroy your insurance company? No. Will your personal taxes go up to pay for health care? No. Will health providers try to euthanasia patients? No.

The status quo means more Americans lives rationed by the insurance companies, that is not acceptable. Is the conservathugs want to violenting shut down town halls, the silent majority must stand, remain vigilant, not be afraid to the call the authorities.

After all, sunshine is the best disinfectant!

History was made today as the Senate overwhelmingly voted to confirm (soon-to-be) Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on largely party line vote 68 to 31 , with nine Republicans voting for confirmation. Her official swearing in as a Supreme Court justice will probably be held sometime next week.

Some good news on the mobbing front!

With conservathugs orchestrating a coordinated campaign with the GOP, anti-health care reform allies, tax foes, and far right Free Republic groups, democratic (and some republican) legislators in the South and the Midwest have been feeling overwhelmed at town halls. With many congressmen being shouted down by republican activists, many democrats have been fretting with how to counter the yelling and get those anti-reform activists to listen.

Well, Keith Olbermann may have shown just one way with Rep. Gene Green (D-TX) in Houston.



Such tactics as bringing up Medicare (or Medicaid ) may not direct the conversation into explaining the benefits of the developing health care reform. But, it's start..as democrats, we listen, try to explain, but - the American people gave the President Obama and the Democrats the responsibility of fulfilling national health care with a public option .

With strong majorities in the Senate and the House, there is no excuse for failure. At the least, the last eight years have shown us that.

The "conservathug" mantra of "by any shouting necesssary to end the town hall" continues. In blue-collar suburban GOP central, (recently liberated) Cincinnati Rep. Steve Driehaus (D-OH), a mobbing woman wouldn't even let Rep. Driehaus answer her "question". If you already know the answer to your question, why even raise it in a public forum?



In the case of Rep. Steve Kagen (D-WI) in Green Bay, the hapless representative just listened in the over-crowded hall, as anti-health care activists lauched a litany of complaints against government interference amid worries of government rationing.



The only problem is that the reason big business is allied with the Democrats for health care reform is because big insurance is continuing to raise group rates, reduce services, yet, increase their own executive salaries. Can't these people realize the insurance companies, the blessed private sector (along with Wall Street), have nearly plunged America into an economic depression because they are slowly "rationing" American consumer away from any health insurance altogether?!

Please, my fellow Americans, stop the madness and support health care reform!!

Yes, former President Bill Clinton got the job done! Today, jailed American reporters Laura Ling and Euna Lee were pardoned by Kim Jung IL after being sentenced to 12 years of hard labor and now are in route to Los Angeles with President Clinton.

Apparently, the arrival of Bill Clinton gave the North Korean government the show of "respect" they felt the country, or Kim Jung IL, wasn't getting. President Clinton is doing the same difficult diplomatic work like Gov. Bill Richardson(D-NM) has done for years.

Is there a hope for improved relations between North Korea and the West? I hope so!

I always thought the quality of life and health care of American citizens was innately linked.

The quality of civilization seems inherently connected by how the collective (i.e., the government) takes care of its citizens and each other.

Now, that the Green Revolution in Iran is transitioning into a conflict between senior clerics and Ayatollah, Fox News and Greta Van Susteren to bring the familiar doomsayer nonsense on Iran.

Last night, former UN ambassador (and Mideast war-hawk) John Bolton appeared with Greta 'On The Record' to warn Americans that Israel's options with Iran are dwindling each day the Iranians work towards a nuclear weapon.

Talking like a SWAT trying to deactivate a bomb, Bolton methodical works through the diplomatic scenarios which all end in a Israeli military strike. My only question is John Bolton mad about the lack of negotiations or is he cheerleading for the upcoming war? He sure doesn't seem upset at the possibility.



Even odder still, the only criticism of the Obama administration was that the President was "naive" on such foreign policy matters. Has neocon John Bolton gone soft or is he simply conflict deprived? Probably both.
